CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Character Development is a project I wrote when I was beginning to realize how uncomfortable I was in my environment. It’s about being too big for the cocoon and feeling very fluid in a very solid community. I was just beginning to really explore myself. It’s very queer but it could be queerer.
COCO PEBBLES
"COCO PEBBLES" is a track that was inspired by the first time I’d heard "Irresistible Bitch" by Prince. It sounds nothing like it, but I’d really wanted to make a funky track like that and this is what came to be.
ELECTRICITY
"ELECTRICITY" is about the ‘spark’ (no pun intended) of the beginning of something with somebody. It’s about wanting to take action and wanting not to waste something that is so rare and has potential to be so good. You cannot force anybody to want to step forward into that with you.
NOBODY ELSE
NOBODY ELSE is about commitment and being very proud of your relationship with somebody. It is about monogamy and the idea of there being one person for everybody and you’ve found yours.
JENN!FER AN!STON
I wrote this song about wanting to see someone in a different light, as a different character other than the love interest. It’s about the constant continuation of the same pattern. It’s about trying to force a change that won’t come. You want better and you put in the effort but it’s unreciprocated either way. No commitment and no loss.
BULL$HIT
BULL$HIT is about a weak person wearing someone else as a mask. Oh, and there’s a video, too!
WIYULD
WIYULD was my response to grown women being intimidated by a young, confident feminine energy. It’s mocking their idea of who I must be. I recorded this song in my bedroom on GarageBand and it features my alter ego Lil Mop. There’s also a sweatshirt available on my webstore NOW!!
MOJO
This album has been going so crazy, and I’ve gained so much love and support from it, and I am so beyond honored. Writing and recording this album was a journey and an outlet for a lot of different emotions I couldn’t quite communicate any other way. Seeing people relate to it and bop to it is something I can’t even describe, lmao maybe I’ll write a song about it. So excited to announce physical copies of MOJO are available NOW !!
